Things not to say/do in response to the Ashley Johnson situation:
- Share/direct people to the article considering this information was shared without Ashley’s permission.
- Speculate/have discussion on what may have happened… it’s none of your business.
- Go searching/fishing for information… again, it’s none of your business
- Make statements about how “Ashley is such a wonderful person and therefore didn’t deserve this”. While I understand that the intent isn’t malicious behind statements like these, language/wording is very important.
- Make statements such as “so-and-so always gave me bad vibes” - this is not helpful and actually extremely harmful and suggests that survivors of DV should have also seen these “bad vibes”
- Make statements about kicking said person’s ass or committing violence against said person to protect the survivor of DV - the response to some experience violence, whether physical, sexual, emotional, etc., should never be more threats of violence
- Don’t have expectations of anyone addressing it. They may, they may not, but ultimately, again, it’s NOT our business

I really don’t want to praise or encourage Disney’s worst capitalistic tendencies or even root for the “big bad corporate company”…that said watching them outsmart and flat out troll and embarrass that idiot Desantis is really funny.
The way Clark Gable was the sex symbol of those early Hollywood romances when Joel McCrea was right there like…Joel McCrea is the sexiest man for the female gaze, romcom hes in has at least one little moment or kiss that is just…goddamn. He is the sexist Hollywood actor of his time, I will die on this hill.
